Room 15 News

Hi everyone,
Today your child has brought home a subway/sushi order for sports day if you wish to order lunch on the day.

Fathers Day stall is happening this Thursday, please send to school $5 if you wish your child to buy a gift.

Children are really enjoying going to swimming and are doing a good job at being organised. I’ll send some photos through on Seesaw later in the week.

Swimming

Next week is swimming week, and all the children are very excited! Here are some guidelines to help your children be organised…..
1. All items must be named
2. Swimming gear must be worn under the school uniform
3. Children will need to bring thongs as we will be wearing them to and from the pool
4. All swimming gear should be put in a separate bag, named

We will be leaving school at 1:00pm, so there will be no lunch orders for next week. We should be back at school by home time.
Parents are welcome to come to the pool on any day. Our lesson starts at 1:30pm. If you come to the pool, you will need to collect a visitor badge from us. No prams are allowed into the pool area, and photography will not be allowed.

You are welcome to support your own child, but you must have a DCSI clearance when helping other children.

Thanks

Term 3, Week 3

Hi everyone,
Our photo timetable has arrived, and we will be having our photos taken next Tuesday, 15th August. You will need to bring your photo envelopes on the day.

Our excursion to the Little Patch theatre is this Friday. We will be leaving school at 12:15pm, so there will be no lunch orders on the day.

Once again we thank parents who have connected to Seesaw. If you haven’t done so yet, please get connected asap! We will begin posting this week. Children really love it when they know you have been looking at their work.

Maths – We have been learning about different counting strategies and revisiting other concepts such as counting in groups, rainbow facts, doubling and why 10 is a friendly number. This all leads to our topic of place value. This means knowing and understanding how a number is grouped/works eg 23 means 2 tens and 3 ones, 20 and 3 more. You can play quick little games such as asking your child to count on from a number, count back, add 10 or 5. This all helps with their understandings.

Cheers
